WHAT EXACTLY IS
THE ARTE SOCIETY?
THE ARTE SOCIETY is an inclusive educational membership platform envisioned & founded by world renowned photographer & New York Times best selling author ELIZABETH MESSINA. Designed as a sanctuary for artists and photographers of all levels, this innovative subscription based community opens enrollment quarterly & offers members a safe, inspiring and supportive space to learn, cultivate their craft, & connect with a circle of like-minded creatives. Through inspiring original content, guided projects, and shared experiences, THE ARTE SOCIETY is reimagining education, business acumen & communion.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU ADD MORE CONTENT?
We add new content on a regular basis. Every month brings a new MONTHLY THEME which is a blend of inspiration, assignments, & in depth education, to guide your creative practice. There is an vibrant LIBRARY that will continue to grow with additional video & printable content. At the same time, THE ARTE SOCIETY is created by & shaped by artists, not algorithms. Content is added with thought & purpose. In addition to our MONTHY THEMES, LIBRARY & such, you’ll also find a variety of extras: behind the scenes videos on our PRIVATE INSTAGRAM, interesting posts & exchanges in our PRIVATE FACEBOOK community, and LIVE ZOOM gatherings with Elizabeth. Some months may feel especially abundant, while others leave more room to slow down & revisit our diverse library of resources. This balance of structure & rhythm keeps the experience both informative & constant without becoming stagnant. Our platform is intended to be a work of ARTE in & of itself.
WHAT IF I FALL BEHIND ON THE CONTENT?
There’s no such thing as “falling behind”. We designed THE ARTE SOCIETY for you to participate at your own pace. You’ll have unlimited access to the entire site and all of its content. You can return and navigate though content whenever inspiration strikes, in your own rhythm. This is your journey.
is this only for professional photographers?
Not at all. Although ELIZABETH is widely known for her intimate & poignant imagery, she is not just a photographer: she’s also an AUTHOR, a DESIGNER, and a lover of SIDE QUESTS of all kinds. THE ARTE SOCIETY mirrors that spirit. Yes, we support photographers deeply, but our doors are wide open to anyone who wants to nurture their dreams & creativity, embrace wellness, as well as be part of a vibrant artistic community.
DO YOU ALSO OFFER IN PERSON WORKSHOPS?
Yes. Elizabeth loves teaching immersive, in person workshops. At the moment, there are no upcoming opportunities, as our full focus is on developing THE ARTE SOCIETY’s content and cultivating our community. Should she decide to host an in person workshop in the future, members will be the very first to know. Announcements will be shared directly inside THE ARTE SOCIETY private social media pages and added to the THE ARTE SOCIETY CALENDAR (located inside the membership), ensuring you’ll never miss the chance to participate.
IS THE COMMUNITY PRIVATE?
Yes. THE ARTE SOCIETY is a private, members only community. Everything we share, whether in our private FACEBOOK group, private INSTAGRAM, or live ZOOMS, stays within this circle of creatives. It is meant to be a sanctuary: safe, supportive, & welcoming. Inclusivity & positivity are at the heart of this space. We do not allow hate, negativity, or derogatory remarks of any kind. We want to cultivate a safe space, rooted in respect, so that every member feels seen, valued, & free to explore their creativity without judgment.
CAN I SHARE MY LOGGIN WITH MY BEST FRIEND?
Membership in THE ARTE SOCIETY is for individual use only. As such sharing your login info is NOT permitted. Every member must honor this policy.
HOW DOES MEMBERSHIP WORK?
Membership with THE ARTE SOCIETY opens quarterly, welcoming new artists into the fold. When you join, you commit to one year (billed monthly). This commitment helps build community & allows you to fully immerse yourself in the experience at your own pace. The monthly fee, intentionally kept modest, so artists & photographers from around the world (whether just beginning or well into their careers) can access valuable educational & inspiring content. We believe true community takes time to grow, and we want you to have the freedom to explore without limitation, returning to the content again & again at your own rhythm. As a member, you’ll have unlimited access to the entire library of content: video lessons, field guides, studio tours, secrets & tips, and more. Everything is viewable on the site, and many resources are also available as downloadable PDFs, so you can print and reference them whenever you want.
I AM REALLY SHY, CAN I ENROLL BUT KEEP MORE TO MYSELF?
Yes. Creativity is deeply personal, & THE ARTE SOCIETY welcomes you just as you are. There is no pressure to perform or participate, no expectations of how you “should” show up. Whether you quietly wander through the content or choose to join the conversations, your presence matters. We are here for you you, not to prescribe how you should participate with our content.
CAN I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?
Yes. We ask that you honor the one-year commitment when you join, as this helps foster continuity in the community and allows you to fully experience all THE ARTE SOCIETY offers. After your first year, you are free to cancel at any time.
Can I join from anywhere in the world?
Yes. THE ARTE SOCIETY is a global community. We are happy to welcome you, wherever you are.
